Mancat Monday - Introducing Zulu the Silver Bengal !
Hello there, it's time for a proper introduction! Mah name is Zulu, I am a 4-year old Spotty Mancat/Bengal. I came from a very loving home where I had lived mah whole life; but due to unforeseen events I needed a new home ASAP. My new Servants are very efficient and delivering me all the toys, catnip and assorted treats I want. Unfortunately though I don't feel like eating much of anything... I'm still a little uncomfortable and homesick maybe...
I love to play wif the green mousie (top) and spotty mousie (below) you can take a look at my floof-spotty belly! This time only, the viewing fee is no charge MOL!

Thankful Thursday
We are very thankful for our furrends Missy, KC, Faith, Sol, Smokey, BJ and Mom ML!
We received a package in the mail ~ Inside was a beautiful necklace with Keiko's picture, my hooman absolutely loves it, and me too!! I rubbed my face on the corner for approval. My hooman had to let their eyes leak for a while from reading the back too, this is a furry good sentiment and we'll will definitely treasure it as a reminder of happy times with our sweet furrbaby Keiko =^_^= Thank you again so furry much for your thoughtfulness!!!

Sad Luna
We were also debating getting her a new companion. She has never seen another cat besides Keiko though so I'm worried about how she might react to another one in her home. Is it too soon for introducing another cat or is it better to look for a furriend for her sooner than later? Any advise is very appreciated! This is all very new to me.
In the past I only had one cat at a time. This was the first time I had two kitties in the same household at once. Luna and us Hoomans want to thank you all for all of your kindness and support in these past difficult few days. It really has helped me feel better knowing everyone is thinking good thoughts for us! I have been overwhelmed at the amount of responses from our furriends! =^_^=

Wait for me at the Bridge Keiko...

the kind you can't replace,
and looking at her empty bed
I still can see her face.
I know she's in a special place
our Lord has for such friends,
Where meadows, fields & flowers
help make them strong and whole again.
I know she's watching over me
She'll be with me when I cry,
So with one more kiss on her beloved head
I told my friend goodbye.
Rest in peace my sweet baby cat Keiko
I miss you so much

Our sweet little Keiko...
I called into work to spend the day with her. She lied down on my lap a little while and slept on the couch most of the rest of the time. We took her to the vet for her breathing issues because she was also becoming very weak... She would go to her water dish and hover over it but not take a drink and just sit there like that.
The doctor gave us some special food to mix w/water and feed her w/a syringe. She really hated it and growled a lot... but now seems to be resting well after going to hide under the futon.
Here is the letter from the doctor that was sent home w/ her meds that explains better than I could try to:
Keiko has become a critically ill patient in a very short period of time. She has developed additional fluid around her lungs, called pleural effusion, which is in creasing her respiratory rate and effort. The patchy infiltrates in her lung x-ray also look more abundant and denser today compared with the results from just 24 hours ago.
I am very concerned with the rapid course of her decline; based on her ultrasound she does have an element of cardiac disease but also there are abnormal masses within her chest cavity. I attempted to aspirate as much of the fluid as possible but was only able to evacuate approximately 4 cc. The fluid has ben submitted for analysis and we are hoping the official test result of the fluid analysis will steer us in a more definite direction... if this is cancer, an infection, consistent w/cardiac disease etc.
We also submitted a CBC to evaluate her red blood cell and while blood cell count. Results should be back Saturday, a toxoplasmosis titer was also submitted, results should come Saturday or Monday. She has been given Mirtapazine to help stimulate appetite and Clindamycin. This is an antibiotic that is used in the treatment of toxoplasmosis.
We'll keep everyone posted on her progress; thank you all so much for your overwhelming heartfelt emotional support as well as generous monetary support. You're all the shining light to comfort us in this difficult time =^_^=

Saving Keiko
Keiko is not in very good shape although she acts fairly normal besides being a bit traumatized from todays events. She was shaved on her chest/side and doesn't want to stop licking the fur-less areas. She drank quite a bit of water tonight and had a few bites of nom before laying down for a much needed nap.
The Doctor said no matter which diagnosis turn out to be correct, they are all very serious. They did the chest ultrasound and regular x-rays and found "tumor like" masses in her lungs. They need to do biopsy to find out if it is blood clots or an actual tumor. If it is a tumor depending on if it is Adenocarcinoma (untreatable) or lymphoma (somewhat treatable)…
Her heart is not functioning normally in the lower chambers which can cause blood clots as well; also there is a 'large mass' in the bottom of her heart they are not sure if it is a clot or another tumor either... If they find the ‘masses’ to be clots and not tumors then there is a heart medication she can go on to help prevent the clots which the Doctor said would help maintain her quality of life. I asked if that meant days, weeks or months but she could not say.
The bulk will be known after the biopsy is done as far as if she can be medicated or not and how long she can live. I don't know when the biopsy will be done for sure the Doctor is supposed to call me Monday with his recommendation and to get costs finalized. We're already nearing the $1K mark though. This is all very difficult for me to fully grasp right now... I want to thank everyone and their kitties who have been sending purrs, prayers and vet help. You are deeply appreciated and it has helped me cope a little better being able to write/read about it; thank you for helping to save my little baby Keiko! I hope she can pull through all of this somehow...

V-E-T Result... sorta
My hooman gave me the noos today... I has to go back to see the V-E-T on Thursday when the specialist doctor is there and stay all day!!! OMC I am scared! I don't want to be there all alones.... I get to take mah bear at least.
My blood test said I have elevated calcium, some kind of proteins are too high and another kind of proteins are too low... I'm anemic too. They don't know fur sure what is wrong wif me but ruled out I do not have Feline AIDS.
Thursday I has to get X-Rays, an abdominal ultra sound, echo-cardiogram and urinalysis. They want to see what is going on with the heart murmur and make sure I don't have Feline Infectious Para-tinnitus.
I'm still not drinking... I let my hooman see that I a few pieces of food but my water bowl level is the same since this morning. They gave me all kinds of container types wif water but I just smelled them and walked away meowing. I'm too worried about the VET to drink come on hooman!
