V-E-T Result... sorta

First I want to thank evfurryone fur their all the purrrrs-n-purrayers! I feel loved wif all the responses on our last post!
My hooman gave me the noos today... I has to go back to see the V-E-T on Thursday when the specialist doctor is there and stay all day!!! OMC I am scared! I don't want to be there all alones.... I get to take mah bear at least.
My blood test said I have elevated calcium, some kind of proteins are too high and another kind of proteins are too low... I'm anemic too. They don't know fur sure what is wrong wif me but ruled out I do not have Feline AIDS.
Thursday I has to get X-Rays, an abdominal ultra sound, echo-cardiogram and urinalysis. They want to see what is going on with the heart murmur and make sure I don't have Feline Infectious Para-tinnitus.
I'm still not drinking... I let my hooman see that I a few pieces of food but my water bowl level is the same since this morning. They gave me all kinds of container types wif water but I just smelled them and walked away meowing. I'm too worried about the VET to drink come on hooman!

  2. The calcium levels were a bit of red flag, reading this. Here's some info on both struvite and calcium oxalate stones:

    http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=1+2243+2244&aid=2729

But note there are other causes of high calcium:

    Oxalate Crystals and Stones

    Formation
Oxalate crystals and stones are more likely to occur in acidic urine and if the cat has high calcium levels in the blood. This could be caused by excessive intake of calcium, protein, sodium, or vitamin D. Some metabolic disorders such as hyperparathyroidism, some cancers, and Cushings disease may also contribute to the development of oxalate stones. Unfortunately, oxalate stones often occur in cats with normal blood calcium levels, as well.

Fingers and paws crossed....Best of luck!!!! Keep us posted!

  12. Sweet Keiko!! Purrs & prayers coming from us!

Have you tried a fountain yet?? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde drink better now that they have a fountain to drink from. I got one when our eldest hit 12 and the volume of drinking went up. You have to make sure it stays clean (kitty fur! ::grin::) and filled but they're very nice. I bought the least expensive one as well. Take care of yourself and we hope that everything goes well at the vet!!!
