I can has turkey?

Our little paws patter on the kitchen floor
as Mom opens up the oven door.
We look at her impatiently
as she bastes the golden brown turkey.

"Not yet," she says, and we glide away
off to chase imaginary prey.
But soon we tire, settle down,
and doze, dreaming of a turkey brown.

In this dream so there's not a bone,
just turkey meat - ours alone.
We awaken to a clatter,
food on the table, the bird on a platter.

We start to yowl and meow loud and clear.
Mom walks to the kitchen and says "Look here!"
We start to follow, the smell is a lure,
there's a plate on the floor, its turkey noms for sure!

We eats and eats till there's room for no more.
Don't worry Mom, not one crumb on the floor!
Later that night, We settles in mom's lap
for a purry, fuzzy, kitty cat nap.

"Thanksgiving Day is surely the best!"

...pop...

Wow what a day dream Zulu! Mom's vegetarian OMC! The only turkey we're going to see is on yer head MOL. Happy Thanksgiving to Evfurryone =^_^=

  5. Our mom and dad are vegetabletarians, too! They went out and had a huge breakfast at The Original Pancake House (mom had a Dutch Baby with lemon, butter and powdered sugar). But we still got raw meat for dinner! Happy Thanksforgiving day to you!

  11. Oh Luna and Zulu, we loved your poem (and dream!). Our mom is not a vegetarian, but she can't cook, so we didn't get real turkey either. Rats.

We hope you had a great weekend!

    Your friends, Fuzzy and Zoe

  12. What a purrfect dream. Everyone ended up happy and no turkey lost his life.

We are so happy you stopped by our blog. We are finally trying to get Moma to help us visit and begin to catch up. It's a busy time of the year and meeting new friends to share it with makes it seem very special.

    With love
    Jake and Fergi
